Mid-September 2013 brought another edition of the exciting Accordion Noir Festival to Vancouver.
The first without Geoff Berner (read Jack Garton’s short chat with Berner), Barbara Adler and Jack Garton organized a series of evening events at The Russian Hall, including the Accordion Dance Party and Rebel Bellows.
Friday’s Dance Party featured The Legion of Flying Monkeys, “notorious in Vancouver for creating party music that transforms viewers into participants.”

and Barbara Adler with Fang, featuring The Company B Singers, during which “a country tune about marauding bears is transformed into a disco-punk anthem of female sexuality.”

Thank you Barbara for inviting us to cover Accordion Noir – both our photographers LOVED the festival, and we heard nothing but roaring approval from everyone who attended the events.
