The issue that just won't go away - the housing crisis - addressed in new film at DOXA
There is no topic that has been more of a cause célèbre over the past 7 years in Vancouver than housing. For the most part, it’s agreed that the situation sucks. It is becoming absolutely unaffordable to live in the city, and this unaffordability is pushing the very lifeline of any vibrant city – it’s creative people and organizations – out to neighbouring cities, or even further.
Charles Wilkinson’s new film, Vancouver: No Fixed Address, tackles the subject from a multiplicity of perspectives, and had it’s premiere screening at this year’s DOXA Documentary Film Festival.
No surprise, there was a big turnout for the screening at SFU Woodward’s Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema.
