CARDED! Shakes Up The Art Scene
Gallery goers get interactive as the excitement for original art on trading cards is high
Think art openings are just places for people to stand around in near silence, hands folded behind their backs, or stroking their beards in deep contemplation?
Think again: the creators of Hot One Inch Action (a night of button art) present CARDED! a one-night only show of art on trading cards.
The walls of the gallery (Hot Art Wet City) are lined with each artists’ (50 artists in total!!) work.
Entrance is free, but for a mere five bucks, you are given a mixed pack of five cards.
You can then trade your cards for ones you really want!
People quickly get involved in the action. Hands come from behind their backs. Beards are left unstroked.
Art cards are the centre of attention tonight!
Big shout out to Chris Bentzen, Hot Art Wet City, Hot One Inch Action, the 50 artists who submitted a range of excellent work, and the huge numbers of gallery goers who made this a fantastically fun April night to remember.
Here’s to many more trading-style art nights to shake up Vancouver’s art scene!
