As a Gastown resident, I’ve always wondered about the space formerly known as the Chinatown Experiment, currently being rebranded to thisopenspace. I’m so happy I brought myself there! It’s a beautifully lit and welcoming venue. I went on Saturday, September 6th to check out work by Celine Simpson, Andrew Briggs, Fred Floyd, Melanie Yip, and Michelle Lee. Created by Sam Mendoza, the artists work was pulled together with music by DJ crew Recess in a show called #gveafukpopup sights + sounds (part of a four day event).
