You Came Here By Chance at 221A
An evening of photographic work address our idea of space in relation to environment
On a beautiful May evening, a group exhibition of photography opened at Chinatown gallery 221A.
Attended by a range of people old and young, the show, curated by Avalon Mott, included something that could appeal to everyone.
You Came Here By Chance was defined by being about place. But that’s where the similarities stopped.
Although landscape was the subject in a few of the 10 featured artists’ works, there were also shop workers, a key from a motel, and a book cataloguing the artist’s Greyhound bus tours across America.
You Came Here By Chance opened Thursday May 16 2013 and ran until May 20th.
It featured select 2013 photography graduates from Emily Carr University of Art + Design: Shannon McCubbin, Andy Jenkins, Avalon Mott, Jeff Downer, Caelan Warnock, Adria Leduc, Olivia Lowe, Sewari Campillo, Caroline Halley, and David Peters.
